Great location, at a very sensible price, within 5 minutes drive of Southampton town centre. Useful if you're in town for business purposes, as it's a 2 minute drive from the financial district. Fantastic breakfast menu, friendly husband and wife team running things.

Not very welcoming. Basic sums it up. Could have faired better for the same price at a Confort Inn type of set up. The very posistive reviews don't reflect my experience.

The breakfast at the hotel was delicious, with a good variety of options to choose from. , the staff was very friendly and accommodating, making the stay more enjoyable. the location of the hotel was convenient, being close to the city center and shops, but still situated on a quiet street.
The hotel's decor and furnishings were outdated and worn out, which affected the overall ambiance of the place. the bathroom had some maintenance issues, such as a problematic toilet and deferred maintenance, which was not up to standard.

Nice breakfast and shower.
Quite small room: ok for one night, but would be tricky if you would stay longer.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel during our romantic escape. The rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the city center, making it convenient for exploring the area. we appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff who provided helpful advice on places to dine.
There were a few negative aspects to our stay. the shower and sink in our room could have been cleaner, as they looked dirty.

The location near the central train station was convenient for our family with children. the full English breakfast served by the friendly owner was a great start to our day. the comfortable rooms and proximity to everything we needed made our stay enjoyable. We also appreciated the easy access to transportation, with the train station and bus to the Isle of Wight ferry nearby. a convenient and value-for-money option with plenty to see and do in the area.

Before arriving I emailed to ask about parking and got a very prompt reply. The room was large and with all the facilities I required including an en-suite shower room. I asked about local restaurants, but it was suggested that I might order a take away. Being a woman travelling on my own I decided to do this and was provided with a plate and cutlery when it came. The breakfast in the morning was much better than I have had in the larger hotels. I was able to leave my car at Argyle Lodge by previous arrangement and it was about a 15-20 minute walk into Southampton. I will be using this B&B again.
Street parking is fine overnight but limited to 2 hours during the day.

Friendly staff
Too few biscuits and milk ( but this is common to most B&B)
